Headed into the heart of the New Forest to visit the important damselfly site at Crockford Bridge. It was a beautiful heathland site with an abundance of interesting plants as well as the nationally scarce Southern Damselfly. New Forest ponies also kept us company. We recorded Frangula alnus and Anagallis tenellum. In the afternoon we went to a coastal site at Key Haven, near Lymmington. Although warm it was extremely windy. We walked along the coast and spotted Ranunculus sardous. As we left we noticed a large shingle bank with a population of Yellow Horned Poppies, we had to stop.
