Mickfield and Bradfield Woods

Decamped and headed west. Stopped briefly to see whether we could see the fritillaries in Fox Fritillary Meadow without success. It was then on to Mickfield where we met Jane's parents. Had a walk round the meadow to see the fritillaries, which were a good display. We then drove to Nowton Country Park to have our sandwiches, seemingly with the rest of Bury St Edmunds. A quieter experience was to be had at the ancient wood at Bradfield. Saw our first oxlips and increased our plant list further. Stopped for a drink in Lavenham before returning home.
